Historic Family Owned Business
Established in 1885 in Lonaconing by George Ternent, Geo. Ternent Sons has been in business since then in the same location despite 4 major floods. Initially owned by George and passed on to his sons, Alvin and Harry, who passed it on to Alvin's sons Harry and Jack and now purchased, owned and operated by Jacks' son, Scott, Ternent's is the longest running family-owned hardware store in the state of Maryland.
We have proudly served our local community and surrounding area for more than 145 years supplying hardware and lumber needs, lighting, flooring, siding, roofing and plumbing supplies in addition to seasonal items including potting soil and salt for winter preparedness.
We also offer a rental department offering everything from generators for those pesky power outages to carpet steamers for your deep cleaning needs.
